When what happened still affects today
Trauma, Abuse & Betrayal
God sees what happened. Healing can include truth, boundaries, safety, wise care, and a future not controlled by the wound.
You do not have to solve everything today.
THE STRUGGLE
Serious harm can change the way a person experiences trust, safety, relationships, and even faith. Scripture never requires us to call evil good. Forgiveness does not mean returning to danger, abandoning boundaries, or refusing appropriate help. God cares about truth, justice, safety, restoration, and the wounded person.
READ THE WORD
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.
REFLECT
- What part of what happened still affects my sense of safety?
- Where do I need a healthy boundary instead of more access?
- What kind of support would make the next step safer?
A SIMPLE PRAYER
God, You know the full truth of what happened. Give me wisdom, safety, trustworthy support, and patience with the healing process. Lead me in truth without forcing me to pretend. Amen.
