When someone or something precious is gone
Grief & Loss
God does not demand that grief be tidy. Scripture makes room for tears, questions, memory, and hope.
BEGIN HERE
Read slowly.
You do not have to solve everything today.
THE STRUGGLE
Grief changes the shape of ordinary life. The Bible never treats sorrow as a spiritual failure. Jesus wept. The Psalms lament. Christian hope does not erase loss; it gives sorrow somewhere to go and reminds us that death and pain do not receive the final word.
READ THE WORD
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Jesus wept.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
REFLECT
- What part of this loss hurts most today?
- Can I allow myself to grieve without rushing to “get over it”?
A SIMPLE PRAYER
Lord, meet me in the place where words are difficult. Hold what I miss, what I fear, and what I do not understand. Give me strength for this day and hope beyond what I can see. Amen.
